Find System Information
About Your Mac's Battery

1. Click the Apple at top left of display to open the window About This Mac

2. In Overview, click System Report

3. Under Hardware, click on Power

4. Under Battery Information, you can find the current capacity (fully charged) and also the original capacity for the battery - the cycle count shows how many times the battery has undergone an AC charge to full - Mac batteries typically have about a 1000 cycles - eventually they will run down more quickly - time to replace them when that gets too annoying.
