Make a Website Shortcut Icon on Your Mac Computer (similar to what you can do on iPhone)
1. On your Mac computer, open Safari and go to the desired website.
2. Select Safari>File>Save As>Web Archive
3. In Format Box, select Web Archive - Save.
4. This will place an shortcut icon of that website on your Desktop with a built-in hyperlink - you can rename it if desired.
5. Click on the icon to go to the website.
NOTE: you can also drag the website URL from the Safari address window directly to your Favorites Bar for a named shortcut.
