Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX

MOST USEFUL

Command+Shift+4
-----creates a cursor to capture any section of the desktop or browser window as a PNG file to Desktop
Command+Shift+4 (then SPACEBAR)
-----captures a single window as a PNG file
Command+Shift+3
-----captures the entire desktop as a PNG file
Command+Option
-----while holding down, click, hold and drag a file icon to create an alias (w/o alias tag)
Command+Delete
-----after selecting an icon, will send it directly to Trash
Command+Q
-----quits application currently running
Command+C
-----copy
Command+V
-----paste
Command+X
-----cut
Command+S
-----save
Command+Z
-----undo
Command+W
-----closes front-most window (Com+Option+W closes all open windows)
Command+I
-----opens Info window for that file
Command+A
-----selects all

Click 1x to insert cursor into a word
Click 2x to select entire word
Click 3x to select entire sentence
Type first letter of a file to instantly jump to it in a window with many files


BROWSER SHORTCUTS

Spacebar
-----in a Browser window, causes exactly one page scroll down (Shift+Spacebar=one page up)
Command+[
-----back to previous webpage
Command + or Command -
-----zoom in or zoom out
