Make a bootable install disk for macOS Sierra (10.12) using DiskMaker X
If you want to do a clean install of macOS Sierra, or you have multiple Macs to install it on, then a bootable flash drive for is your best bet for easy installation.
STEPS:
1) Insert an 8GB
USB thumb drive into your Mac,
formatted for OS X Extended (Journaled).
2) Download DiskMaker
X and open it to be ready to use.
3) Download macOS Sierra installer from
the App Store -
it might take a couple hours (4.7GB).
4) Open DiscMaker X and select macOS Sierra (10.12)
5) Find the Sierra installer file in your Applications
folder - select 'Use this copy'
6) Select your USB thumb drive from the drop-down menu - select 'Choose this
disk'
7) Select 'Erase then create the disk'
8) Click 'Continue'
9) Type in your password when requested.
When it’s done, insert your USB drive into any Mac, then launch the
installer by holding down the Option key when you boot up your computer.
